FLEXPLORER 165
SOLD!
We are thrilled to announce another remarkable commercial success: a second Flexplorer 165 has been sold to a US client. This project will highlight our unparalleled expertise in crafting customized, high-performance yachts that cater to the unique preferences of our discerning clients.
The latest Flexplorer 165 exemplifies our commitment to innovation and customization. To meet
all the Owner’s requests, we will employ our full range of ingenuity and ability to think outside the
box.
One of the Owner’s unique requests is a standard pickleball court, which entails significant
structural modifications to the reference model. To accommodate it, we developed a one-of-a-
kind design by extending the Upper deck overhang. A light structure composed of carbon fiber
poles and a net encircles the pickleball court to prevent balls from falling overboard. Spectators
can enjoy the game from two dedicated viewing areas: one adjacent to the court on the upper
deck and another offering a "sky-view" from the sun deck. Additionally, the Upper deck is built and
equipped for touch-and-go operations of an EC130 helicopter.
The extended upper deck also creates a substantial shaded area on the Main deck, which houses a
7-meter tender and jet skis, deployed with an overhead crane. When both tender and jet skis are
in the water, the space transforms into a luxurious outdoor lounging area complete with a bar,
heated pool, free-standing furniture, and collapsible bulwarks. A second 5-meter tender is stored
on the Upper deck, while the Sun deck is designed to host two additional jet skis.
To support the Owner's active lifestyle on both water and land, we included two dedicated storage
areas for recreational equipment: one in the lazarette below the main deck and another near the
crew area on the lower deck. This second area is accessible via a hull door, facilitating easy loading
of supplies, which are then stored in a dedicated galley area and a walk-in freezer. Additionally, a
locker has been provided for waste storage, capable of holding garbage for up to two weeks.
Accessibility has been a key focus, with an elevator serving the lower, main, and upper decks.
Wellness facilities on board are exceptional, featuring a gym and massage area on the upper deck,
and a thermal therapy area on the sun deck with a sauna and an ice tub pool operating between
8°C and 12°C.
Performance-wise, the Flexplorer 165, powered by two Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines, each
delivering 970 kW at 1800 rpm, impresses with a maximum speed of 15 knots and a range of 4800
nautical miles at 10 knots.
The layout includes four guest cabins on the lower deck and an owner’s cabin on the main deck,
along with accommodations for the crew in five cabins plus a captain’s cabin.
This astonishing project was made possible through the expertise of Christian Bakewell of Burgess,
who introduced the client, the innovative exterior design and naval architecture by HydroTec, and the
sophisticated interior design by Design Unlimited.
Carlo Aquilanti, CdM's Sales Manager, remarked, “It’s been a privilege to work with the Owner on
this project. From our first conversation, it was clear that the Flexplorer 165 was the perfect match
for him. We have successfully integrated all his favorite sports activities and his lifestyle into the
yacht without any compromises.”
This project not only underscores our shipyard's ability to meet highly specialized demands but
also solidifies our reputation for delivering top-tier, bespoke yachts that match the most
demanding clients' expectations.
